Karen has been a member of the Personal Rights Panel of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer (since 2013), and Legal Aid’s Domestic Violence, Child, Youth, and Family Services, Administrative and Duty Counsel Panels (since 2011).  Prior to COVID-19, Karen enjoyed assisting self-represented litigants in the capacity of Advice Lawyer (FLIC) and Family Court Duty Counsel.  She now offers self-represented litigants across Ontario legal “coaching” and litigation support (“unbundled legal services”) in a private capacity by appointment online.

Karen also offers Family Mediation and Collaborative Family Law services to those who wish to work co-operatively for a family-focused and consensual solution to their family reorganization.  She is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts (AFCC) and is trained in Collaborative Practice.

Michael is a Licensed Paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) and a partner in KMT Law Professional Corporation.  Michael attended the Paralegal Program at Algonquin College, where he received his certificate, completed the program and graduated with Honours. 

Prior to becoming a Licensed Paralegal, Michael gained knowledge and experience in the legal field working with Karen Tobin in her law office.  Michael also brings his previous business experience to the table, having had a successful career for many years as an award-winning Project Manager. 

Michael provides legal services and representation in matters involving Small Claims Court, Landlord and Tenant Law and Employment Law.  

Michael will provide both his knowledge and professionalism to help clients achieve the best possible outcome when representing them in any legal matter.
